Our main objective at Balclis is to simplify the access to the fascinating world of art and to becoming an art collector.
In 1979, Antonio Climent Benaiges —a pioneer importer of antiques— and Juan Baldrich decided to establish an auction house that would become a sector benchmark. The name, Bal-cli-s, is a neologism derived from the fusion of their family names. More information at About Balclis.

An Estimate is an approximate value (usually a range of prices) that our experts think a lot may sell for based on prior sales of similar works in the Spanish and international markets.
The Current Bid is the highest of all bids placed for a given lot.
The Minimum Starting Price (also known as the Reserve Price) is the lowest amount that starts an auction off. It is a price agreed upon by Balclis and the seller.
The Minimum Initial Bid is the minimum price you must enter to begin bidding for a lot you are interested in.
The Maximum Bid is the highest price you are willing to pay for a lot in a hammer auction.
If a bid is placed in the last minute of the auction, we add another minute so that previous bidders have a chance to place a final counterbid if they so wish.
You may place 4 different types of bids:
  1. Bid in person at the auction house
  2. Bid by leaving your absentee bid on our website
  3. Written bid that you can leave in our house
  4. Telephone Bid (while the auction is live)
Yes, of course. In fact, we encourage you to do so!
The bid that was first registered is the one that will prevail.
